Vegan 🌱 Yellow Mung Stew is simple to make recipe. A unique eNalabaag recipe prepared with yellow mung beans and bell pepper. This is a vegan friendly recipe without adding onion, garlic etc. Having with chapati or roti will be a combo.

Making of Vegan 🌱 Yellow Mung Stew



Main Ingredients


  1. Yellow Mung Beans (Moong Dal) 1 cup

  2. Bell pepper 1 medium size

  3. Green chilli 2

  4. Ginger 1 inch

  5. Coriander leaves

  6. Lemon 🍋 1/2

  7. Turmeric powder a pinch

  8. Ghee 4 tbsp

  9. Mustard 1 tbsp

  10. Salt 🧂 to taste

  11. Sugar to taste

  12. Water





Mung beans pressure cook



  1. Take a bowl and rise mung beans very well

  2. Add sliced green chilli, turmeric powder and water

  3. Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles, switch off the flame














Pressure cooked mung beans, looking very nice and will have a nice aroma when backed














  1. Nicely Smash the mung beans with a smasher and keep it aside













Vegan Yellow Mung Stew process


  1. Take a tawa and add 2 tbsp ghee, heat it on a medium flame

  2. Add 1 tbsp mustard and let it pop out

  3. Now add sliced green chilli and saute

  4. Add ginger paste and saute till aroma goes off

  5. Now add finely chopped bell pepper and saute for few seconds

  6. Add turmeric, salt 🧂 and saute

  7. Now pour the baked mung beans and fry for 2 minutes on a low flame

  8. Add water 💦 and mix well

  9. Now add two tbsp ghee and saute

  10. Check the taste, salt 🧂 and sugar and give a good mix on a medium flame

  11. Saute for 2-3 minutes and bring it to boil

  12. Switch off the flame and move the mix to a bowl 🍲

  13. Squeeze lemon 🍋 and mix well

  14. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot

  15. Vegan 🌱 yellow mung stew ready
