Making of Gumbo Fried Rice




Main Ingredients:

  1. Steamed rice 1 cup

  2. Gumbo (Ladies finger, Okra) 1 cup

  3. Ghee 1 tbsp

  4. Oil 1 tbsp

  5. Pepper powder 1 tbsp

  6. Turmeric a pinch

  7. Mustart 1 tbsp

  8. Cumin seed 1 tbsp

  9. Salt to taste


Gumbo Fried Rice preparation




  1. Take Gumbo(Ladies finger) and finely chop and keep it aside

  2. Take a tawa and add 2 tbsp oil on a medium flame

  3. Add cumin seed, mustard and let it pop out

  4. Add finely chopped gumbo and saute

  5. Add salt to taste, a pinch of turmeric and saute

  6. Saute for 3-4 minutes till gumbo gets roasted










Roasted gumbo fry










Mixing Roasted Gumbo Fry with Steamed Rice

  1. Take a tawa and add steamed rice, keep the stove on a medium flame

  2. Add Gumbo and saute

  3. Now add 1 tbsp ghee and give a good mix

  4. Add 1 tbsp pepper powder and saute

  5. Check the taste and add salt if required

  6. Mix very well and Gumbo fried rice ready
