Dried Berry Sauce




Dried Berry Sauce is a very special recipe of eNalabaag. This is recipe is prepared with Turkey berry(Sundakkai) and tamarind. A very healthy and medicinal recipe. Try at Home.

Making of Dried Berry Sauce




Main Ingredients:

  1. Turkey berry (sundakkai) 1 cup

  2. Tamarind an amla size

  3. Sambar powder 1 tbsp

  4. Turmeric powder a pinch

  5. Asafoetida 1/2 tbsp

  6. Fenugreek powder 1 tbsp

  7. Mustard 1 tbsp

  8. Jaggery 1/2 tbsp

  9. Salt to taste

  10. Oil

  11. Water


Tamarind Soaking


  1. Take a cup of warm water

  2. Soak an amla size of tamarind for 15 minutes


Dried berry sauce preparation

  1. Take a tawa and add 2 tbsl oil on a medium flame

  2. Add mustard and let it pop out

  3. Add turkey berry(sundakkai) and saute

  4. Now add turmeric, asafoetida, fenugreek powder, sambar powder and saute for few seconds

  5. Now pour soaked, filtered tamarind juice and bring it to boil

  6. Add jaggery and salt to taste give a good mix

  7. Let it boil to a thick consistency (refer image)

  8. Add little water and boil for 2 minutes on a low flame

  9. Dried berry sauce ready
